Xiamen TV's special report on the China-Europe freight train in Poland
The interview team arrived in Łódź, a city in central Poland. As an important transportation hub in Poland, what role does the China-Europe Railway Express play? Let's take a look at the report from our reporter on the ground.
Ni Tianyun, reporter from the Poland-Hungary reporting team: Today we left Warsaw, the capital of Poland, and drove for about two hours to Łódź, Poland's second largest city. Łódź means "ship," because in the past, Łódź was an important transportation hub in Poland. Let's look at a map today. This is Łódź, where two highways intersect. The A1 and A2 highways are now the most important highways in Poland, so Łódź's status as a transportation hub in Poland is increasingly important. The most numerous companies in Łódź are logistics companies.
Ni Tianyun, a reporter from the Poland-Hungary reporting team: I'm currently at the container yard in Łódź, Poland. You can see the prominent China-Europe Railway Express logo on these blue containers beside me. This place holds special significance for the China-Europe Railway Express. On June 8, 2016, China Railway officially launched the unified brand for the China-Europe Railway Express. And on June 20, Chinese President Xi Jinping and Polish President Duda jointly attended the ceremony here for the first arrival of a unified-branded China-Europe Railway Express in Europe (Poland). That train completed its unloading here, transporting the goods to all of Europe.
As a central transportation hub in Poland, Łódź has seen an increase in logistics companies establishing operations in the surrounding area thanks to the opening of the China-Europe Railway Express. The China-Europe Railway Express (Poland) Intermodal Transport Co., Ltd., located in Łódź, Poland, has been operating China-Europe Railway Express services since 2013. Over the past seven years, the company has grown alongside the China-Europe Railway Express, with its business expanding from over 500 containers in 2014 to over 3,000 today.
Su Penghui, General Manager of China-Europe Railway Express (Poland) Intermodal Transport Co., Ltd.: The China-Europe Railway Express has indeed connected trade between China and Europe, and has shown foreigners the Chinese government's determination. We not only want to "go global," but also to "bring in" foreign investment. This is a win-win situation that benefits both sides. Among those who recognize its value are foreigners, who have demands for imports from China and exports to China. Therefore, we are quite confident in this industry.
