I came to Fuzhou on April 8, 2023 to attend the inauguration ceremony of the Federation of Fujian Overseas Chinese Associations in Europe.

   The European Federation of Fujian Overseas Compatriots (abbreviated as Fu Lian) was established in Italy in October 2015.

        The association comprises 31 Fujianese overseas Chinese associations from 19 countries and regions across Europe, including Germany, Italy, France, the United Kingdom, Denmark, Greece, Poland, Scotland, Russia, the Netherlands, Spain, the Czech Republic, Belgium, Romania, Ireland, Austria, Hungary, Luxembourg, and Portugal. The presidium members are recommended by Fujianese overseas Chinese associations in Europe. The first round of leadership is based on a rotating system, with the rotating chairperson elected by the presidium. Subordinate to the presidium are the Fujianese Chamber of Commerce, the Youth Association, and the Foreign Trade Association, with a liaison office in Fuzhou. Members are expected to be engaged in industries such as clothing, catering, dyeing and cleaning, sofas, leather goods, hardware, insurance, tourism, and machinery.
